Greg Hocevar is in his 18^th season as an assistant coach for the Gilmour Academy boys prep hockey team and his main responsibilities include serving as team manager, travel coordinator and defensemen coach. He originally came to Gilmour as a junior varsity baseball coach in 1993, where he remained with the Lancer baseball program until 2005.

An avid athlete, Hocevar was a member of his high school football, baseball, track and wrestling teams. He went on to play club baseball for three years at the collegiate level as a catcher and first baseman. He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Dyke College and a master’s degree in international business from Lake Erie College. He also holds a certified purchasing manager (C.P.M.) certificate. Additionally, he has a level 4 coaching certification from USA Hockey.

Just prior to retirement, Hocevar taught college courses in management and marketing for seven years. He currently resides in Novelty, Ohio, with his wife of 46 years, Elaine. They have four children, Greg, Matt, Ryan and Sarah.
