| Title: | Assistant Coach - Varsity B |
Tyler Martin is in his first season as an assistant coach with Gilmour’s Varsity B team in the 2021-22 season.
Starting hockey from a young age, Martin truly has a passion for the sport. The son of a father who played high school hockey and loves the sport it was always in the background of his life at home.
Martin started playing hockey through the Garfield Heights Bulldog program as a mite and progressed through the bantam ranks. He then went on to play for Holy Name High School, where he went across town to Gilmour to play in GLHL contests.
Transitioning from his playing days in high school, Martin was fortunate to be recognized by Mark Ferfolia Sr. and was welcomed into a coaching career at Lakewood High School. As Martin grows throughout his assistant coaching role at Gilmour, he hopes to help build a community of strong values and a culture of winning. Martin also was excited to coach at Gilmour as he believes spending time with other great coaches will make him better at analyzing the game.
