GATES MILLS, Ohio --- Gilmour Academy's boys prep hockey team captured the 2025 Gilmour Academy Holiday Tournament championship Sunday, Dec. 21, with a 5-3 victory over Shady Side Academy.

The Lancers went a perfect 4-0 during the tournament, defeating Somang Prep, MacLachlan Prep, the South Shills Panthers and Shady Side Academy to claim the title. Gilmour combined strong defensive play with a high-powered offense, scoring 28 goals over four games.

Owen Krock '27 led the way for the hosts and was named the tournament's 18U/Prep Most Valuable Player. Krock totaled 11 points across the four-game weekend, providing a consistent scoring presence throughout the event.

In goal, Everett Payie '26 earned three wins for Gilmour, while Crew Petty '26 picked up the remaining victory. The goaltending duo helped anchor a defensive effort that limited opponents and allowed the Lancers' offense to set the tone.

The championship capped a strong showing for the Lancers on home ice and provided momentum heading into their next competition.

The Lancers return to action Friday, Jan. 2, when they compete in the Nichols/Belmont Hill School Tournament in Belmont, Mass. Gilmour will open the tournament against Millbrook School Prep at 11 a.m.
