Zoltan Mesko

Zoltan Mesko is in his second season as an assistant coach with the Gilmour Academy football program where he is in charge of the kickers. He brings a unique perspective to the position having been a punter/holder in the National Football League (NFL) for teams such as the AFC Champion and Super Bowl XLVI participating New England Patriots (2010-12), the Pittsburgh Steelers (2013) and the Cincinnati Bengals (2014).
Mesko is a graduate of Twinsburg High School, where he was a four-year letter winner as a punter/kicker. He was a three-time First-Team All- Western Reserve Conference selection and a two-time first-team all-district pick. He also earned all-state honors and was a U.S. Army All-American honoree. It was at Twinsburg that he first met Coach Kosiorek and Coach Hodakievec, who were serving on the coaching staff during Mesko’s high school career.
He went on to play at the University of Michigan, where he earned All-American honors and served as a team captain. Mesko earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and marketing from Michigan’s Ross School of Business and a master’s degree in sport management from Rackham Graduate School. He currently lives in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, with his wife, Haley and their daughter, Maizey. He works at IBM in business analytics. Additionally, he oversees the Zoltan Mesko Foundation, a 501(c)(3) benefitting children’s hospitals in Boston, Mass., Providence, R.I., and Ann Arbor, Mich.
